Developing Businesses

With over 80 Scottish-based production companies and more than 300 facilities companies generating a turnover of 1.2 billion per year, production activity in Scotland is the highest in the UK outside London.

Scottish Screen works in partnership with a wide range of organisations such as PACT, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, to provide opportunities for professional business development.

In 2009, Scottish Screen launched a Slate Fund which invested over 550,000 in five companies, leveraging an additional 550,000 in match funding. The Slate Fund investment aimed to assist companies in a range of early stage projects. Find out more about the companies who benefited from the Slate Fund.

Scottish Screen will continue to provide support for businesses through its existing funds and as we move forward to Creative Scotland.
